I frequently think about a question: What did I get the best from Beiwaionline after I spent many years on its English learning project? A Benke diploma? Of course not! A dignified job? It is partially true, but not all the story.
Thirteen years ago, I was a sales clerk of a well-known department store downtown-Just a merchant waiting for a good offer at my counter. There were no big ambitions, and so, no hopes. I almost could not read in English before I first registered Beiwaionline in 2001. Once I came across some foreigners in the workplace who inquired me something, Embrassingly, I could only stumble some few words or some simple phrases. Several years later, after I finished the first phase of the English major, and acquired a Dazhuan diploma,I was successfully employed by WANTOK-the company I am now working for. I was pleased that I could become a sales representative of international business. I did enjoy it because it was a job that I have been longing for. By this time, I realized that it is Beiwaionline that has helped me achieve the goal.
I benefit much more from Beiwaionline than what I have paid. I thought I could target something bigger after I have worked at WANTOK for several years. By this moment, I have got used to the model of distance learning of Beiwaionline. I will go to my study spontaneously as soon as finishing my dinner, and always set either Saturday or Sunday as my English learning day. Why can I do this naturally? As Beiwaionline’s teaching concept, it is very important to develop all registered students to be active, independent, and self-discipline throughout the whole learning process. Under this unique teaching environment, to finish all learning activities, I have to learn how to organize my spare time efficiently, how to solve the problems I encounter with, and how to seek for help from the sources available. However, I am not alone when studying. There are always some useful guidelines that I can follow. It always pushes my learning ahead again and again when I am confused about some learning tasks. During the period, I have been gradually trained to keep a good habit of learning.
However, it was not at all easy for me to follow the rules at the first. I was challenged by various difficulties. There seems to be no enough time to do all the learning tasks, and there was too much vocabulary appearing in the textbook which were new to me and made me dizzy. And it seemed always at the deadline that I handed in my homework. My whole spare time has almost been occupied by the English class. …“Is it worthy to spend so much more time on learning English?” With this doubt in my mind, I ever thought of drawing back. Luckily, I was persuaded by myself. “To achieve your big dream, you must make hard efforts and sacrifice something during the process.” I told myself. After that, I went on with my learning without complaints. As the time went by, I increasingly made improvements in many areas of English. Those articles that I regarded them as hard to read now became much easy. I felt a great sense of achievement from the unconscious progress, which encouraged me to do better. With this encouragement, I managed to squeeze one to two hours on English learning every day in the following days.
Part-time learning now has become an essential part of my daily life even though I have graduated from Beiwaionline. Keeping this habit, I not only have achieved my college dream, but also found a better job. Believe that it will stimulate me to dream bigger dreams.
