"...I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!..."
Every time, when I hear the speech of "I have a dream"from Martin Luther King, I feel shocked. Everyone has his own dream, so do I. Although my dream is not as great as Martin's, there is still a little dream in the deepest of my heart.
In my childhood, I like watching TV very much, especially the Zhengda Variety Show. At that time, I set up a goal -- to be an emcee when I grew up. To be an emcee, I have to study hard to get some kinds of certificates so that I could be qualified for the occupation. Unfortunately, I even didnt have a chance to enter into the university because of the poor condition of my family. But I didnt give up, I was keeping on studying English in the evening at Xiamen University Adult Education Department while working in the daily time in the past three years.
That was really a hard time for me, in order to catch time and buses, I had to skip the dinner, so that I could be there in time. Compared with other majors, we had a great many assignments to make for majoring in English, I spent almost all my spare time previewing lessons, reviewing lessons, doing exercises, and at the meantime, searching some interesting topics online to enlarge my English scope. I felt a little tired sometimes, however, I couldn't stop because I knew that I need to absorb lots of information so that one day maybe I could have an opportunity to make my dream come true. Holding this faith, I insisted on learning English, and finally, I got the affirmation from teachers and classmates, at the same time, I graduated from Xiamen University Adult Education Department with excellent marks.
Dream's going on. I wanted to go further study in my spare time. By occasionally, a friend of mine -- Alina, who was also my schoolfellow in Xiamen University -- got my idea in a gathering party, she introduced me to join in Beiwaionline. Her husband (Chester) was an excellent graduate from BWOL at Xiamen Zixing Training Center. I was so excited when I heard about this news. So, I kept in touch with Alina and Chester, asked lots of questions about BWOL. Frankly speaking, before entered into BWOL, I always thought that teaching by face to face is the best way to gain knowledge, but now, I could say learning online is also a perfect way to gain knowledge, especially suitable for the working people. We don't need to spend lots of time catching buses; we don't need to skip dinner to get to the destination; we just only need to arrange our spare time well and enjoy our studying. Most importantly, we could be online to chat with our schoolfellows from different cities at any time, and BWOL also arranges a certain of face-to-face lessons twice a week. We can point out the problems when we meet the teachers, and they will help us to solve the problems immediately.
There is a forum inside BWOL. I like it very much, not only because there are plenty of helpful information in it, but also because there are many TOP graduates from BWOL, who wrote down their learning experiences and shared with us. We benefit a lot from their kindly words. Meantime, our dear schoolmates recommended tremendous information which is related to different aspects of English, we could discuss and communicate our opinions together online. I really enjoy this kind of learning method.
"Learning by doing."It became my motto when I joined in BWOL. I also recommended "the whole person"education to the fresh students in the autumn opening ceremony last weekend, hoping they could learn its real meaning and try their best to achieve its requirement.
Looking back to the first semester, I volunteered to be monitor in our class. I thought I was qualified for it. And I got the highest average mark as well. Now the second semester will start at this weekend, I set up several new goals for myself. I have to study harder than before, do my utmost to help other students, and plan to establish an English corner together with others, so that we could have more chances to practice oral English in our spare time. Really hope that one day, I could be honourably invited to visit Beiwaionline University, looking around its beauty with my own eyes…
