1996-1997年，曾在教育部国际交流与合作司工作，1999-2001年在中国驻悉尼总领事馆从事教育外交工作。在《对外传播》、《欧洲研究》、《全球传媒研究》和《国际论坛》等国内刊物发表论文和文章，并在英国主流报纸《卫报》发表评论文章。

1）英文专著：The Economist's Construction of Globalization(1985-2010): A Narrative Analysis witha Chinese Perspective（《经济学家》全球化思想建构的叙事：（1985-2010）），世界知识出版社。2012年7月。
2）译著：《美国能向中国学什么》，李淯著，红旗出版社，2012年11月。
3）论文代表作：《西方主流媒体中中国国际角色》（《国际论坛》，2012年第1期），《西方媒体全球化报道及其叙事策略》（《国际论坛，2013年第3期》，《英国主流媒体与政府在气候变化问题上的互动关系》（《国际论坛》，2014年第4期）。
Zhang Xiaoying, PhD, Associate professor and executive dean of the School of International Journalism and Communication, Beijing Foreign Studies University. Her main areas of research are British media, international communication, cross-cultural communication and news discourse analysis. She joined the BFSU in 1987. She received a BA in English language and literature from Zhejiang University in 1985, a BA in international journalism and communication from Shanghai International Studies University in 1987, a MA in contemporary British studies from Warwick University in the UK in 1991, and a PhD in international communication from Beijing Foreign Studies University. In 2010-2011, she stayed at the University of Cambridge as a visiting scholar. In 1996-1997, she was seconded to work in the Ministry of Education, and in 1999-2001, she was seconded to work for the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney. She has published papers in the journals of International Communication, European Studies, Global Media Studies and International Forum etc. Her major academic achievements are: 1) a book in English: The Economist’s Construction of Globalization(1985-2010): A Narrative Analysis with a Chinese Perspective, World Affairs Press, 2012. 2) a book translated from English to Chinese: What the U.S can learn from China, by Li Yu. 3) key papers: ‘China’s world role in mainstream Western media’ (International Forum, No. 1, 2012), ‘Reports and Narrative strategy of Globalization in mainstream Western media’ (International Forum, No. 3. 2013), ‘Interaction between British government and mainstream media on climate change'(International Forum, No. 4. 2014) .
